Moving Amazon-labeled stock to WFS: what to check before dispatch

Stock prepared for one marketplace needs a fresh identity review before it is assigned to another. When Amazon-labeled units are considered for US WFS, connect the physical variant, destination item mapping and current label files before approving any rework. A barcode that scans successfully can still identify the wrong product.

Prepared by SinoWarehousing · Practical records with linked platform guidance.

Separate product identity from label readability

Confirm the physical SKU, size, color, pack quantity and any other variant detail against the destination item record. Retain photos of the current retail unit and visible labels. Scanning helps verify the printed value; the seller still needs to confirm that this value belongs to the intended sellable unit.

The cited WFS guide requires a scannable UPC or GTIN on each sellable unit and does not accept an Amazon FNSKU as that item identifier. It also distinguishes item labels from receiving labels and carrier labels. Treat those three label levels as separate files in the work brief.

Build the transfer brief before removing labels

Label levelInformation to retainApproval needed
Sellable unitPhysical variant, existing barcode value and destination UPC or GTIN mappingSeller-confirmed identity and current item-label file
Receiving carton or palletCarton contents and current WFS inbound-shipment referenceReceiving-label file for this shipment
Carrier parcelCarton ID, accepted destination and booked transport referenceCurrent carrier label and handover instruction

Keep the former label information with the batch record before approved removal or covering. WFS guidance calls for old labels and barcodes to be covered. Agree the method and the packaging surfaces involved; replacing a unit label does not by itself approve removal of every marking on the product.

Approve a sample against the destination mapping

For the agreed sample, compare the decoded barcode with the seller-approved value, inspect the visible placement and check whether an old identifier remains readable. Attach the label version and the seller’s dated decision to the batch. Confirm which photos and scan records are included in the accepted prep work.

Illustrative example: the blue and black variants both have readable Amazon labels, but the proposed WFS file maps only to blue. Hold the black units for the correct mapping rather than applying the blue label to the whole batch. A readable sample does not resolve a variant mismatch.

Reconcile rework and release separately

Record the units approved for relabeling, units actually completed and any units held for an unresolved identity or packaging question. If the current label file changes after work starts, identify the affected units and obtain a correction instruction before continuing.

Then match the final carton contents to the receiving files and carrier handover. Sample approval, completed prep and dispatch approval are separate decisions. A batch can be correctly relabeled while its destination or inbound plan still requires confirmation.

Send a concrete brief for the China work

Share the product and variants, available quantity, photos of present labels, destination program, approved identifier mapping and intended shipment files. State whether the request covers inspection, label removal, relabeling, repacking or dispatch.

SinoWarehousing can discuss the requested China handling scope using those references. Product acceptance, materials, charges and destination availability require confirmation for the actual shipment; marketplace rules should be rechecked in the current seller guidance.
