Before You Use a US Return Address: A Small-Volume Seller Checklist

Prepared by SinoWarehousing · Jeton Express

A return address is one part of a receiving arrangement. Before asking a customer to send a parcel, confirm what the operator will accept and what happens after receipt. Small volumes still need clear identification, handling instructions and a cost review.

Confirm the receiving arrangement

Ask the destination operator to confirm the exact address, recipient format and acceptable product types for the shipment. Explain the product category and any condition concerns. A publicly advertised address does not establish that a specific parcel will be accepted. SinoWarehousing destination and handling availability require shipment-specific acceptance.

Separate receipt from inspection and resale

Recording a parcel’s arrival, checking its contents and approving it for resale are different actions. Agree which checks are included and what evidence the seller needs. Packaging that looks sealed is not by itself a decision that the contents can return to sale.

Make the parcel identifiable

Link the order or return reference, tracking number, expected SKU and quantity before the parcel moves. Ask how an unmatched parcel will be recorded and who resolves the identity question. Keep physical receiving records separate from the applicable customer refund process.

Agree the next action in advance

Specify whether accepted goods should wait for review, remain in storage, undergo agreed rework or move to another accepted destination. Set a review date and identify who can approve the next step. Product condition and handling restrictions may limit the available options.

Review the charge categories

Ask which receiving, inspection, storage, materials, onward shipping and disposal activities are included in the quote. Confirm any minimums with the operator instead of assuming a small batch receives a particular tariff. These are questions for a shipment review, not a published price schedule.
