OCEANIA / PREP BRIEF
Trade MeTrade Me
Prepared in China.
Separate seller-held New Zealand stock replenishment from an expressly approved supplier-direct model before preparing Trade Me inventory.
Identify the operating model.
Trade Me says sellers must normally possess the goods they list; supplier-direct drop shipping requires written approval. Its published drop-shipping terms apply to approved domestic sellers and require declared shipping country and tracked shipping. International seller approval is a separate account question, so one approval must not be assumed to cover another model.
Connect the stock stages.
- 01
Identify the approved model
Obtain the seller’s account country and current written permissions where relevant. Establish whether goods are seller-held stock, local replenishment or approved supplier-direct orders.
- 02
Check stock and listing identity
Match physical units with listing variants and quantity. Keep the declared origin and delivery description consistent with the actual route the seller has approved.
- 03
Prepare the right shipment
For local replenishment, follow the accepted receiver’s carton instructions. For approved supplier-direct orders, match each parcel with its order, destination and accepted tracked carrier service.
- 04
Reconcile handover evidence
Provide quantities, final packed measurements and carrier references to the seller. Report missing units or origin discrepancies before the seller closes the relevant stock or order record.
Approve the preparation records.
| Control point | Seller file or confirmation | China preparation decision |
|---|---|---|
| Model permission | Seller-country record and current written approval | Hold supplier-direct preparation if the necessary model approval is absent or unclear. |
| Origin consistency | Physical stock location and published shipping description | Keep local stock distinct from goods still in China or in replenishment transit. |
| Parcel identity | Order allocation and approved tracking reference | Keep the packed variant and carrier evidence connected to the correct customer order. |
Resolve the exception.
Planning example: A listing describes locally available stock, but the allocated goods are still with a China supplier. Pause release and ask the seller to reconcile stock location, permitted model and listing information before choosing a route.
This illustrates a stock decision and is not a customer case or a platform penalty claim.
Plan returns and stock withdrawal.
Trade Me’s drop-shipping policy keeps responsibility for returns and faults with the approved seller rather than the supplier. Agree the actual receiver, order reference and condition evidence before arranging a return movement. Local return receipt, shipment back to China and replacement dispatch each require their own acceptance and seller disposition decision.
Confirm destination acceptance, handling restrictions and the return receiving address for the actual product and shipment before anything moves.
Approve the returned-stock decisionOfficial references.
